GadellNet Hosts Its First Hands-On Cloud Seminar

GadellNet in partnership with Microsoft and Premier Knowledge Solutions hosted a seminar on Microsoft’s “Cloud Based” Office 365 Suite of Applications.

The event was attended by a number of individuals interested in learning more about the benefits that the new products from Microsoft had to offer. The participants got a hands on experience to determine if the Office 365 applications were the right investment for their businesses and government institutions.

Participants were able to see for themselves what all of the hype is concerning the online based Microsoft Office Professional Plus, Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Lync Online. The highlight of these applications was the ability to work anywhere, anytime, and on any computer with an internet connection. Additionally the Microsoft 365 applications make it possible for small businesses to compete with larger companies due to the reduction in hardware equipment needed to run the software and keep the company connected; all you need is internet connection!

What really drives home the need for many organizations to explore the move to the “Cloud” are the benefits that come along with the Microsoft Office 365. With a 99.9% guaranteed uptime and the ability to access company documents from anywhere it was hard to not take notice. According to GadellNet participants and the Nucleus Research from Boston, MA., the largest benefits seen immediately are:

Included in the hands on seminar was a trial run to take part of a mock corporation and mimic the day to day usage of the Microsoft product. Attendees used the Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and a host of others to show the functionality of the Microsoft 365 and how they could be incorporated with their businesses. Microsoft Exchange and Lync demonstrated how easy it was to communicate with co-workers and business contacts all over the world, and conference in up to 250 people all at once. The SharePoint application allowed for multiple people to share documents seamlessly and in a timely manner. One of the highlights was how the Microsoft 365 suite of applications allowed for multiple people to work on the same business document, at the same time; all while chatting through the Lync IM system to stay in touch.
