GadellNet’s podcast, Zero Excuses was born out of a desire to share the stories of people who are really doing it all. As someone who stays busy with leading an organization, ultramarathons, coaching little league, and more, our host, Nick Smarrelli knew there were others out there just like him. Those who were really doing it all – at work, at home, and with their personal passions. He knew their stories could inspire the masses.

This idea slowly began to take form over the early months of 2019 and by the end of that year, we had a plan in place and guests lined up to begin this podcast.

Then March hit.

In 2020, more than ever, it would be easier and understandable for any of us, including leaders, to throw in the towel. We could have cancelled guests and taken a break.

Nothing about this year has been typical. The demands on our plates with work and family were both altered drastically with stay-at-home orders and social distancing. No one would have thought twice if you’d given up on a goal or two created back in January when we were all blissfully unaware of what the next 12 months would hold.

This was the year, however, that we knew it was more important than ever to share the Zero Excuses mentality.

The people interviewed by host Nick Smarrelli are extraordinary, there is no doubt about it. But to bring some perspective, Nick always asks the guests, “why you?” He asks this question for a simple reason – he wants to show the audience that they’re not so different from these extraordinary people on the podcast. Never has a guest answered that question by explaining how they were simply born better than everyone else; Excelling in every single thing they’ve done since they were in diapers. Never have they mentioned superhuman abilities that set them apart. It’s their mentality, plain and simple. They do it all because they make it their priority to do so. This question brings the feasibility of having what these leaders have to light.

Why is this podcast so important and so relevant right now? It’s been a year full of temptation to take the easy way out. To give up on yourself or your goals. But, we’re here to tell you, no matter what this world throws at you, you can still reach your goals and lead the life you want to lead.
