Punxsutawney Phil has spoken – we have six more weeks of winter ahead of us. There is no doubt that it takes a little more effort to go out in the winter. You need your gloves, hat, boots, maybe a scarf. You need to start your car early and shovel the drive. Sure, the winter wonderland is beautiful, but there are a few drawbacks as well, including the potholes we have to dodge from the freeze/thaw cycle. Thinking about another six weeks of this mess can have some of us a little bummed.
Luckily, we’ve come up with a list of six technologies to help you get through these last six weeks of winter.
-
Text Capable Gloves
Seem low tech, but can you gloves from the ‘90s do this? Text capable gloves can save you a lot of body heat if you need to get a message out while you’re battling the frigid temperatures.
-
Towel Warmer
Getting out of the shower is just a little harder when you’re met with a frigid winter morning’s air. Grabbing a toasty warm towel can make all the difference to starting your day off right. A towel warmer is a real game-changer and you won’t be upset about this little splurge.
-
Pot Hole Tracker
There’s an app called RoadMApp that begins collecting data when you get in the car. When it senses you’ve hit a pot hole, it records this information and helps the government spot and fix potholes so they can be fixed before they get out of hand.
-
Amplified Wi-Fi Router
During the cold winter months, you may spend a few more evenings on average watching Netflix than any other time of year. If your wi-fi is spotty, however, it can be pretty frustrating to spend an evening in. The AmpliFi HD Wi-Fi Router let’s you enjoy a stronger connection and faster speeds anywhere in your home.
-
Heated Slippers
That’s right. We are talking about cozy cotton slippers with a USB-powered heating feature. If these don’t help you get through the rest of winter, I don’t know what will.
-
Tabletop Glass Fireplace
A mini fireplace, standing around 9” tall, can help you bring some summer fun into your livingroom. The gel fuel creates a beautiful real flame. These fireplaces come with removable glass so you can remove this safety feature for some s’mores. We wouldn’t suggest leaving this open flame unattended.
