Many of our clients have migrated to Office 365. To make sure you are getting the most out of this comprehensive platform, we wanted to give talk a little about OneNote and why you should be using it if you aren’t already.
More than notes
If you’re like me, you go through at least a couple of notebooks a year with notetaking, last making, and jotting down ideas as you have them. OneNote is a convenient place to keep all of this and use less paper. The best part is you can keep it organized any way you like. You can organize based on topics, projects, dates, and more by creating notebooks, sections, and pages. You are really able to make it your own with drawing tools for visual people, and premade templates for the less creative, and paper types to set the theme. The on-page format is really flexible as well, so you can align your pages in a way that makes sense to you by dragging and dropping.
Collaborate with anyone
Allow your coworkers to see your notes and collaborate with you. OneNote has the capability to be a light project management tool if used correctly. It syncs with Outlook, has a mobile app, and allows you to make checklists. These checklists can be shared as tasks with teammates with reminders in Outlook. All of these features support collaboration and allow you to stay up-to-date on the the go.
Keep things private
If you want to keep a certain notebook, section, or page private, you can password protect them. This works great if you are using OneNote for personal and professional needs simultaneously. You may want to collaborate with your coworkers on one notebook, but not let them see all fo the details of the trip you’re planning.
Reading, writing, and arithmetic
OneNote is able to read your handwriting and convert it to text if you are using a tablet and on the go. If you want to write notes right into a document for others to review, you are able to do that as well. This comes in handy if you want to mark-up an existing document. You can even type in an equation, hit the space bar, and have an answer. This app can even do calculus.
