Letter to our Clients on July 22, 2024

I wanted to follow up on CrowdStrike’s unprecedented global tech outage last week.

Critical disruptions to airlines, banks, hospitals, and 911 services are still lingering today, after CrowdStrike released an automatic update to their Windows agent, causing Windows to crash. I am relieved that our clients’ IT operations were largely unaffected by this event.

Technology is an impactful part of everything we do, and this incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and preparedness. GadellNet takes our responsibilities seriously and strives to ensure our products, services, systems, and processes are robust and resilient. While unaffected by CrowdStrike, we used this event as an opportunity to review our Incident Response processes with a focus on how we would respond to future incidents.

While this event was not cybersecurity-related, experts predict it will trigger an increase in phishing attempts on all organizations.  Malicious actors know teams are under pressure and may overlook their cybersecurity training and best judgment. Our team remains vigilant and I urge you to remind your team to be the same, especially when verifying identities and handling sensitive information.

We are grateful for our partnerships with Blackpoint Cyber, our 24/7 Security Operations Center partner, and SentinelOne, our endpoint detection and response partner. Each has been instrumental in maintaining the security and integrity of our services.

On behalf of our entire team, I want to express our sincere thanks for your trust in us. We remain committed to providing you with the highest level of service and security.

Thank you for your continued support.

Regards,

Brad Hettenhausen, CEO
