What is Microsoft NCE

On March 1st, Microsoft is making changes to their licensing pricing. They are calling this the Microsoft New Commerce Experience (NCE). The NCE is meant to simplify and streamline how you buy from Microsoft.  You will not lose functionality with this change.  The transition must be completed by June 30th, 2022.

What does it mean for your organization

This will have an impact on your business. Microsoft is encouraging moving away from monthly agreements to 1-year or 3-year agreements for seat-based offers such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Windows 365.  Although monthly agreements are still available, they will cost an additional 20%.

If you sign a 1-year or 3-year agreement before March 1st, you will receive a 5% discount on the agreement.  We can help determine if a blend of Monthly and 1-year or 3-year licensing makes sense for your organization.

During the agreement period, you cannot decrease the licensing, but you can add licensing. Some upgrades are possible while under agreement such as migrating from M365 Business Premium to M365 E3.  You are also able to do this without penalty.

Your Account Manager at GadellNet will work closely with you to ensure you commit to a licensing model that works for you. They will be here to inform you of changes and ensure you get accurate counts.

What GadellNet is doing

GadellNet has a cross-department team dedicated to ensuring this roll-out goes well for our clients.

GadellNet’s Solutions Team has been reviewing all client licensing to ensure the numbers are accurate before you enter your 1-year or 3-year agreements and are unable to decrease the number of licenses. We want to work closely with you, our clients, to clean this data up and ensure you will not be paying for licenses you do not need.

Your Account Manager will send you this list for your careful review. During your QBR, you can talk in more detail with your Account Manager about the details and impact to your organization.

If you want to know more about these upcoming changes, you can watch the Q&A session we hosted in December.

Please reach out to your Account Manager with your questions.
